It is therefore all the more surprising that the exhibition planned for autumn 2026 at the Kunstpalast is the first comprehensive retrospective in Düsseldorf, where Immendorff studied, taught and worked for decades. The project, supported by the artist's estate, will shed light on all phases of his work, from his beginnings at the art academy to his last works in his studio here.
